AutoShutter Shatters Selfie Definition

Like me, some like to take pictures of ourselves, to post them in our social media platforms and to share with our family and friends. Hence, the internet slang "selfie" came about.

According to the urban dictionary, selfie means a picture taken of yourself that is planned to be uploaded to Facebook, Myspace or any other sort of social networking website.

You can usually see the person's arm holding out the camera in which case you can clearly tell that this person does not have any friends to take pictures of them so they resort to Myspace to find internet friends and post pictures of themselves, taken by themselves.

A selfie is usually accompanied by a kissy face or the individual looking in a direction that is not towards the camera.

If you browse through some of your friends' facebook accounts, you'd realise that some selfies are very good. In fact, some look like they were taken by professionals. To take good selfies, one needs good skills and techniques. And practice does make perfect when it comes to taking your own pictures. The awkward angle and positioning of your fingers, palm and hand while holding the phone or camera and still able to snap the pictures while maintaining a nice smile and avoiding the extended arm is definitely very difficult to achieve. I have just started about two to three years ago taking selfies using my iphone and for those beginner selfies takers, it's not easy!

I have always been an Apple products fan since I was in university. From using the first generation of mac desktop computer to the latest iphone 5S gold which I am currently using. In my personal opinion (I am sure many too), Apple products are trendy, fun, user friendly, powerful and most importantly reliable (can last a long time). Don't get me wrong. I am not here to review and sing praises about Apple, in fact on the contrary.

From all the generations of iphone, I am sure some of you guys have realised that although the camera and screen resolutions are very good, one thing that iphone doesn't have is the delayed auto camera function. You know, the ability of delaying the camera-taking by a number of seconds so that you have time to position yourself against your favourite backdrop before capturing a perfect self portrait i.e. the regular cameras.

But thank goodness for the wonderful auto camera apps that are available in the App Store i.e. AutoShutter, AutoCam, etc. and kudos to the app wizards cause these apps are great and useful for those who enjoy taking selfies.

Using the auto camera apps, you will no longer have the problem of taking selfies with your extended arm showing. Besides, you will not be distracted by your awkward angle positioning of your arm so that you can focus on looking perfect in front of the camera.

For those of you who have not tried these apps, why don't you give it a shot cause you'll definitely see a vast improvement in the quality of your future selfies. Till the next time, take more nice selfies and share them with me! Click and Snap!

This is Jimenian signing out. ;)
